Arbor Day 2020

Our 2020 Arbor Day celebration was going to take on an even bigger celebration with the recent 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, but due to COVID-19 all of our community events have been canceled.

In lieu of our annual event, we still celebrated this special day by planting five (5) Dade-County Pines at the Sherwood Forest Park. The five native pines were picked up by our Grants Consultant, Robert Ruano who planted them this morning – Arbor Day, April 24, 2020, together with our Public Works employee Angel Hernandez.

We appreciate and thank South Miami, Commissioner Bob Welsh, for the donation of these pine trees and Robert Ruano and Councilperson Roman for their enthusiasm in making this happen for us, and of course our Village Manager and staff. We look forward to seeing the beauty these additional trees will bring to our Sherwood Forest Park.
