Little River Clean Up
You’re invited! Come help us clean the Little River!
Little River Celebration & Cleanup Day 2015
Saturday, March 7th
8:30am – 1:30pm
The Village of El Portal and the Oakland Grove Neighborhood Association will be holding the annual Little River Celebration & Cleanup, a half-day event where the community is invited to come out, meet each other, and share in the restoration of the Little River’s natural beauty.
This year we will have musical blessing on the water by the La Fortuna Serenaders, live painting and installation of J. L. Vasile’s Peace Flags in the Wind, and a discussion led by FIU Professor Hugh Gladwin on the history and hydrology of the Little River and the surrounding areas.
Meet at the flood control dam (approximately 435 NE 82nd Street) at 8:30 am. Bring your own canoe or kayak, or RSVP to reserve one. Canoes are provided by Blue Moon Kayaks and are limited availability. First to RSVP will be the first reserved.
