Home Energy Savings Workshop
Miami-Dade County’s Office of Sustainability, together with Dream in Green, will be hosting a joint Home Energy Savings Workshop (HES) for the Village of El Portal, the Village of Biscayne Park, the Village of Miami Shores and the City of North Bay Village on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 6:00pm. Location: Arcola Lakes Library, 8240 NW 7th Avenue, Miami, FL 33150
About the Home Energy Savings Workshops
Since 2010, over 25 HES workshops have been held throughout the Miami-Dade community in partnership with County Commissioners, as well as City Mayors and Commissioners. There is absolutely no cost involved as the workshops are part of the County’s Communitywide Energy Efficiency Campaign which is funded through the County’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program.
During the 1.5 hour workshop, residents learn how to save 30-40% on their electricity bill, as well as receive a FREE $100 Home Energy Savings Toolkit. The toolkit contains 10 CFL light bulbs, a programmable thermostat and other items that people can take home and use to immediately start saving money on their electricity bill. Information is also provided on other free County’s programs such as the Showerhead and Light Bulb Exchange program and County appliance rebates.
