In El Portal, we take pride in the abundance and diversity of our wildlife. The village is a bird sanctuary and a haven for Florida’s endangered manatees. Care is taken to maintain our natural environment so that our furry, feathered, and scaled neighbors can prosper along with us. For decades the Women’s and Garden Club has worked to beautify our village. We are rewarded for their efforts every time a peacock struts up to Village Hall or a mother manatee and her baby lazily roll by on the river.
