El Portal 3rd Annual Art Fair 

2017 marks the 80th Anniversary of the Village of El Portal. In honor of the monumental occasion the Village of El Portal in collaboration with the Antiques & Design Mall will host a renewed version of El Portal’s Annual Art Fair. The Village of El Portal’s 3rd Annual Art Fair will be the Village’s first 2-day Art Fair event held on the 3rd and 4th day of February 2017. Both days of the Art Fair are intended to showcase the Village’s artistic flair coupled with its appreciation for its community members. The free 2-day Art fair will be like none other produced by the Village of El Portal. In 2017, the El Portal Art Fair will take place at its new location, the Antiques & Design Mall. The main focal point of the Art Fair will be an outdoor-tented art gallery with side-by-side walls that showcase 10 to 20 artists’ artwork, all of which is available for purchase by attendees. The first night of the art fair will be the Grand Opening held on Friday, February 3, 2017. The Grand Opening (from 7pm-8pm) will consist of The Village’s New Logo (Seal) Unveiling Reception at 7:30 pm and then a Live Concert to follow at 9:00pm to 11:00pm. All throughout that time (7pm – 11pm) there will be food trucks onsite, live performance art on display, a DJ and the headlining act Spam Allstars. On day 2 (Saturday, February 4, 2017) of the art fair the art gallery will be open all day starting at 10:00am to 6:00pm along with the Village of El Portal’s Inaugural Fresh Food Farmers Market. Day 2 will also include a live band, live performance art and family activities throughout the day.

Art Fair Highlights:

To build excitement and anticipation for the art fair, the Village of El Portal has setup a Village New Logo search campaign called El Portal: The Village’s New Logo (Seal) Contest. Community members countywide can create and submit their version of an El Portal village logo with the chance of it becoming the new logo (seal) of the Village of El Portal. The new village logo, picked by the Village Officials, will be unveiled during the art fair’s Unveiling Reception on Grand Opening Night. Submissions are due by noon on January 23rd. To engage children and expose them to art and creativity, there will be a Community Wall of Art, which is an interactive art concept that encourages participants to paint on a freestanding wall alongside artwork, created by emerging and established artists.
